Finally I have a reason for writing a new journal. Are you excited yet? Well you should be. I've recently been working on a peice called "Virginia" which I have been submitting in stages to my gallery. It's actually a comissioned peice so I've been trying to do my absolute best at it ~ but I also was not very happy with how the image was comming out.
You see, I realised that whenever I start to add value to a portrait... I always leave the brightest parts of the face the same true white as the backround. And I used to think that looked really good. But I've spent alot of time (Alot of time) on this Virginia peice. And I'll be submitting the newest version shortly. But you gotta see it. It's probably the best peice I've done to date. I really used adobe like I've never used it before. I practically (digitally) painted over my entire original sketch with adobe and It's so slick now it's like butta. BUTTA I TELL YOU. And I used soooo many layers. Considering I usually only use one. Im excited. And I want you to be excited too. I even measured distances between the eyes... the diameter of the eyes, size of the nose.. everything. It's such a good portrait for me.
Soon after I submit the new Virginia peice I will be taking down the older two. Because looking at them makes me feel ugly. Haha.. well not quite... but there's just too much of a difference between my newest version and the older ones. You'll see when I submit it. Why not submit it now, you ask? well.. my "client" hasnt seen it yet. So it's only fair.
from now on look for a new calibur of imagery from me.
